NORTHERN ITALIAN WINEMAKER LUNCHEONS:
We hope you’ve noticed our winemaker luncheons popping-up at Spinasse. Many of our favorite producers travel to Seattle and we are lucky to have them join us for lunch. We have 3 upcoming events scheduled that you should add to your calendar.
The lunches are from 12-2pm and the cost is $45 per person (+tax & gratuity) which includes 3 courses + wine.

GIORGIO RIVETTI, LA SPINETTA AND CONTRATTO
We are delighted to welcome Giorgio Rivetti to Spinasse for an afternoon lunch. He’ll be showcasing the delicious wines of La Spinetta and Contratto, that include sparkling wine, Barolo, Barbaresco and Nebbiolo.
The Rivetti family was started in 1890’s by Giovanni Rivetti and later became grandfather to brothers Carlo, Bruno and Giorgio. Giovanni left Piedmont for Argentina, hoping to return to his homeland and make wine, but he never did.
His son Giuseppe fulfilled the dream, marrying Lidia and they purchased a vineyard and began making wine. In 1977, the family took up residence at La Spinetta (meaning top of the hill) making Moscato d’Asti, followed by their first red, La Spinetta, in 1985.
Contratto was founded in 1867 by Giuseppe Contratto and the winery is known as the oldest producer of sparkling wine in Italy. The Rivetti family acquired Contratto in 2011 and represented the entry into one of the top Italian sparkling wine houses.
