The Black & Tan Hall is a performing arts community space and restaurant opening this year in Seattle's Hillman City District.
The Black & Tan Hall is a performing arts and restaurant venue. Established as a worker-owned cooperative, we are maintaining Rainier Valley as a destination for cross cultural arts and education events. With a stage, event space, and restaurant that is both affordable and profitable, the Black & Tan Hall will create multiple income streams for its investors while celebrating the history of Seattle with concerts and classes.
Utilizing the skills and talents of Seattle artists and teachers, the Black & Tan Hall will be open for business morning, noon and night with all-ages events that draw in the diverse communities of the Rainier Valley. With income from beer and wine sales, food, classes, and live music events, the business will turn a profit while its administration operates through consensus-based decision making.
Do you want to support Black & Tan Hall?
We are excited to announce that we have just launched GoFundMe campaign to secure final seed money as we prepare to open the business. We have been pouring our hearts, sous, time, energy, and dollars into this space. We need final seed money to finish and stock the kitchen and strengthen our financial infrastructure at this critical time.
We are ridiculously excited to open our doors (in spring!), but we want to kick things off with a bang.
Please do consider contributing the amount you can! You will be part of a truly unique, vibrant, and inclusive movement that fosters the type of community and world that we all want to be a part of. Plus you will get a neat gift that lets you know how grateful we are. Check ‘em out!
