February's HIMALAYAN THALI brings you dishes from Himalayan India, Bhutan, Nepal and Tibet. And of course that means MOMOS!
We've decorated the restaurant with Buddhist thangkas, and hung up the Tibetan ruffle made for us in Dharamsala years ago. You'll feel like you're back in Kathmandu. Steamed veg momos with roasted tomato and garlic chutney help complete the illusion.
We're also serving an awesome dal. The recipe came from a Nepali woman from Bhutan, a refugee who worked in our kitchen for a while. It's a delicious black dal (urad), with garlic, red chilies and tomatoes. So good!
The Vegetable Manchurian is a hit, too! A favorite at Chinese restaurants in India. Spicy fried vegetable 'koftas' in a delicious soy and ginger sauce (gluten free).
It's not the usual Indian food - well, it seldom is here - but it is Indian! Just a reminder of the enormous variety of cuisines eaten and enjoyed on the Indian subcontinent. Come try the foods and flavors of the Himalayas, all this month at the Thali House.
Come in this February to enjoy the tastes of the Himalayas!

The tastes of South India are here to warm us up this cold January!
Wed thru Fri 5-9pm
YOU'VE GOT TO TRY THIS THALI!!
Seriously. Our January South Indian Thali is one of our best yet. Really unusual, complex and delicious flavors. The idlis are amazing - steamed lentil-rice sourdough, one stuffed with potato masala, the other (Kanchipuram style) is fragrant with ginger and black pepper, cashews and curry leaf. We're serving them with special idli podi - a flavor 'powder' with roasted lentils, peanuts, sesame and spices. Where else are you going to find food like this?! If you don't have an Indian auntie back home in Kerala, the answer is NOWHERE ELSE! This is food to feed you spirit and soul. You need this. Now more than ever. Made with love.
